Our leading Investment Banking client is looking for a Synthetics Lead Developer (VP level) to join a front office technology team supporting a global platform for synthetics and financing.

This is a hands-on leadership role working directly with Trading and product teams to build high-performance systems across pricing, risk and trade lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing:

Working closely with front office stakeholders to gather and deliver on business requirements

Leading the design and development of low-latency, event-driven systems

Building scalable microservices-based applications for equity derivatives platforms

Driving architecture, system design and performance optimisation

Contributing across pricing, risk capture and trade lifecycle management

Collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Ensuring code quality through testing, reviews and engineering best practices

What we’re looking for:

Strong Java development experience

Experience with greenfield architecture/ platform builds

Experience building event-driven / distributed systems (Kafka, Solace or similar)

Proven track record working on low-latency, high-performance platforms

Experience xwzovoh working in front office or markets technology environments

Exposure to equity derivatives, synthetics or prime services is highly beneficial

Desirable skills:

Strong understanding of distributed systems and concurrency

Experience with observability / distributed tracing

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices

Experience working in global teams and complex system environments
