An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial leader to join a well-established and respected business within the commercial vehicle sector.
This is a leadership position with full responsibility for a key business unit, overseeing commercial performance, operational excellence, customer experience, asset management and team development. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth, profitability and continuous improvement across the operation.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a business area with significant autonomy, influence strategic decision-making and contribute directly to the future success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and accountable culture.
Drive commercial performance, profitability and achievement of business targets.
Oversee the retail sales strategy for commercial vehicles, maximising returns and market opportunities.
Manage vehicle asset lifecycles to optimise residual values and control costs.
Develop and communicate the strategic vision for the business unit.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure vehicle availability meets market demand.
Manage budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators.
Present performance updates and recommendations to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and operational improvement.
Ensure exceptional levels of customer service remain at the heart of the operation.About You
We're seeking a commercially astute leader with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational management.
You will ideally possess:
Proven experience in a senior commercial, operational or business unit leadership role.
Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, profitability and business performance.
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to influence and build strong relationships across multiple departments.
Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach.
Experience within commercial vehicles, fleet, leasing, rental, transport, logistics or a related sector would be advantageous.
