Job Description HGV Class 1 Day Driver - Northampton \n Salary: £43,947 per annum \n Location: Northampton \n Contract: Permanent, Full Time \n Our client is recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to provide a safe, reliable and customer-focused driving service from their Northampton operation. \n Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts (including 1-hour unpaid break = 11 hours working time). Various start times to meet delivery and operational demand. Flexibility is essential. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally \n Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements and service level agreements \n Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach at all customer locations \n Adapt to varying start times in response to changing delivery schedules \n Accurately complete all required tasks across multiple digital systems \n Ensure all driving activity complies with regulations and legislation \n Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting \n Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time \n Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors and site teams \n Report defects, incidents, near misses or accidents promptly \n Comply fully with all Health & Safety policies and site rules \n Participate in toolbox talks, audits and mandatory training as required \n \n Skills & Experience \n \n Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence \n Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card \n Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation \n App-literate and confident using multiple digital systems \n Flexible approach to start times and workload \n Strong customer service focus \n High attention to detail, particularly with compliance and digital records \n Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards \n Able to work independently and as part of a team \n \n Desirable \n \n Experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS) \n Previous experience working to variable delivery schedules \n Distribution or trunking experience \n \n Benefits include \n Competitive salary, discretionary bonus, pension scheme, annual salary review, free eye test and glasses voucher, interest-free company loan, free on-site parking, referral bonus, lifestyle programme, flu jabs, group life policy, EV charging points, flexible career pathway, enhanced holiday scheme, private healthcare and more. \n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
