PSD Group have been exclusively retained to identify a senior Business Development & Sales leader for a highly respected and technically credible organisation operating at the forefront of defence and national security capability delivery.
This is not an account management role.
You will lead and grow the UK Business Development & Sales function, while remaining hands-on in shaping and winning complex, solution-led opportunities across defence and security markets.
This is for someone who:
• Wins new business
• Builds and grows pipeline
• Secures complex contracts
• Leads capture and campaign strategy
• Delivers order intake targets
• Opens new customers and markets
• Converts opportunities into long-term revenue
We are looking for individuals with a track record of:
• Winning £5m–£50m+ solution and service-based deals
• Operating within MOD and prime contractor environments
• Leading complex capture activity and long sales cycles
• Building trusted senior stakeholder relationships
• Developing and executing successful BD strategy
• Mentoring and driving high-performing BD teams

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and mentoring a UK Business Development & Sales team
• Owning UK pipeline integrity, forecasting and reporting
• Developing and executing UK growth strategy
• Personally shaping key pursuits, bids and customer engagements
• Building strategic relationships across customers, partners and industry
• Representing the business at industry events and thought leadership forums
Ideal background:
• Strong defence and national security sector knowledge
• Experience across solution selling rather than product-only sales
• Proven business winning capability in complex environments
• Strong commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with primes, MOD and wider government communities
