Excel Academy | Paid School-Based Placement | Teacher Training Pathway Are you a recent English or Maths graduate and passionate about pursuing a career in teaching? A fantastic opportunity is available at Excel Academy for an aspiring teacher to gain invaluable classroom experience through a fully supported school-based placement, with a guaranteed placement of at least 12 weeks. This role is ideal for graduates considering a future in teaching and offers a clear pathway into formal teacher training through either a SCITT programme or Teaching Degree Apprenticeship. What's on Offer? Guaranteed placement for a minimum of 12 weeks Opportunity to extend through to May for the right candidate Hands-on classroom experience in a supportive secondary school environment School visit and meet-and-greet before placement begins Potential progression into teacher training with Alpha in the following academic year Excellent opportunity to build experience and develop teaching skills before formal training Candidate Requirements To be considered, you must have: A degree in Maths or English or a degree with at least 50% English-related content A minimum degree classification of 2:2 GCSE Grade 4/C or above in: English Maths Science A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people Next Steps The school will initially hold an informal conversation with shortlisted candidates, followed by a site visit to meet staff and students and gain an insight into the school environment.
