About the role
Role Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Compliance Technician to support and coordinate all areas of compliance relating to incoming materials, storage, finished products, and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing test results, incidents, and audit findings, identifying any issues or discrepancies, and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented and progressed.
Working Hours
This role operates on a 4-on, 4-off rota basis, consisting of both day and night shifts. Day shifts run from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with night shifts running from 6:00pm to 6:00am.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organised laboratory and control room environment, following a clean-as-you-go approach.
* Coordinate and complete testing of materials including effluent, water, environmental samples, chemicals, raw materials, intermediate products, stored products, and finished goods as required.
* Review test results, identify any deviations, and ensure issues are addressed before products are released.
* Manage laboratory stock levels, ensuring all required equipment and chemicals are ordered and available in line with procedures.
* Coordinate shelf-life testing and additional analysis required for contamination monitoring programmes.
* Arrange non-routine testing as requested by relevant departments, customers, or management.
* Schedule servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring all calibration checks are completed and remain within required specifications.
* Work closely with Production and Laboratory teams to investigate quality concerns and support effective resolution.
* Ensure HACCP documentation is completed accurately and consistently to maintain full product traceability.
* Identify and communicate any non-compliance issues, supporting relevant teams with corrective actions.
* Review and update procedures, policies, specifications, and quality documentation, including laboratory methods and environmental standards.
* Support the training of production staff to ensure testing procedures are completed correctly and consistently.
* Complete scheduled audits, including internal, external, hygiene, and glass audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified and closed out.
* Maintain incident and complaint management systems, ensuring investigations are completed thoroughly and root causes are identified.
* Compile and submit required reports accurately and within agreed timescales.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification.
* Good understanding of COSHH assessments.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles.
* Awareness of auditing processes and requirements.
* Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
