About the Role
We are looking for a talented junior 3D artist, ideally a recent graduate, with a strong focus on modelling and texturing to help build and expand a high-quality library of game-ready assets for real-time construction, infrastructure and digital twin applications.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to develop professional skills on real production work. You will help create accurate, optimised 3D assets, including construction plant, vehicles, site equipment, buildings, environmental assets and modular components, produced from manufacturer specifications, technical drawings, photographs and other reference material. You'll be supported in balancing dimensional accuracy, visual quality and real-time performance as you build your experience.
You will work as part of a Digital Solutions team, collaborating closely with developers, technical specialists and more experienced artists, who will help you develop consistent modelling, texturing and asset standards.
Key Responsibilities
Help create high-quality, game-ready 3D assets
Model a range of construction, infrastructure and environmental assets
Produce clean UV layouts and learn optimised texture workflows
Create physically based rendering (PBR) materials and textures
Support the development of modular asset kits for rapid environment creation
Produce Level of Detail (LOD) models under guidance from senior team members
Help maintain consistent visual quality and technical standards across the asset library
Collaborate with developers, digital twin specialists and project stakeholders
Contribute ideas to the evolution of the visual standards and asset pipeline
Essential Skills & Experience
A strong portfolio demonstrating 3D modelling and texturing ability (degree, personal, or freelance projects are all welcome)
Good foundational 3D modelling skills, particularly hard-surface modelling
An understanding of clean topology and game-ready / real-time asset principles
Some experience producing UV layouts and texture workflows
A working knowledge of PBR materials and texturing
Ability to work from technical drawings, reference photography and specifications, or a willingness to learn this quickly
Awareness of Level of Detail (LOD) concepts and real-time performance considerations
Working knowledge of Blender and/or 3ds Max
Working knowledge of Substance Painter, or an equivalent PBR texturing tool
Good attention to detail and enthusiasm for learning within a professional pipeline
Software Experience Required
Blender and/or 3ds Max
Substance Painter, or an equivalent PBR texturing workflow
Desirable Skills (not required, but a bonus)
Any experience creating vehicle, machinery or industrial assets
Any experience creating foliage or environmental assets
Awareness of photogrammetry workflows
Interest in procedural content generation tools
Interest in simulation, VR or real-time visualisation
Familiarity with source control systems such as Git or Perforce
Any exposure to Unreal Engine
Any exposure to rigging assets for animation
