Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water Industry MEICA | M&E | Civil Engineering A leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water and wastewater projects on behalf of Essex & Suffolk Water is looking for a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Working across the full project lifecycle, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from tender award through to final account, ensuring successful financial delivery while supporting project teams, clients, and the wider supply chain. Why Apply? * Clear routes for career progression * Hybrid working options for flexibility * Long-term secured work through major framework agreements * Life assurance, private medical insurance, and health cover * Opportunity to work on complex MEICA, M&E, and civil engineering projects Duties for Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor * Manage the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account * Prepare and agree valuations, variations, and measurements * Procure and manage subcontract packages, including tender enquiries and negotiations * Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and commercial performance * Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, and change control * Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams * Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and commercial procedures * Mentor and support Assistant and Junior Surveyors within the commercial team Qualifications & Experience * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering * Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract * Good commercial awareness and cost management skills * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications * Experience within the water industry is advantageous but not essential GRS (Gearing Recruitment Solutions) specialises in recruiting Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers, and Engineering professionals across the UK water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, and process engineering sectors, including MEICA, M&E, civil engineering, WTW, WWTW, AMP7, and AMP8 framework projects
