You will also undertake surveys, produce reports, and support day‑to‑day project management for secured programmes.This role is ideal for an established consultant seeking progression, or someone with strong technical depth who wishes to join a respected fire safety consultancy.About UsAECOM Buildings & Places delivers modern, complex and iconic structures through multidisciplinary engineering, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, Cost & Project Management and Quantity Surveying.Our team consists of over 400 engineers nationwide, delivering projects across residential, commercial, aviation, defence, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, sports and leisure sectors.Notable projects include: Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science Centres, BBC Broadcasting House, the Titanic Building (Belfast), and St Pancras Chambers Hotel.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, Calculations & ProposalsLeading FP design on some projects, supporting the lead FP engineer on more complex projects, including:• Create Fire Suppression System solutions for multiple applications at all stages of design.• Perform calculations including sprinkler water supplies and gaseous agent quantities.• Support the remote project‑delivery teams.Survey & Reporting• Conduct technical reviews and assist in solving design issues.• Perform field investigations or inspections.Client & Team Coordination• Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, authorities, contractors and other stakeholders.Project Management• Support project manager on projects of varying scale, delivery and technical assurance.Relevant engineering degree or professional qualification.• Knowledge of British & International standards and Building Regulations.• Experience with Fire Suppression Systems (Sprinklers, Water Mist, Gaseous Suppression, Risers, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Hypoxic Systems).• Software proficiency (Word, Excel, CAD, Revit, hydraulic tools).Qualifications• Evidence of CPD and professional development.• BEng, MEng or working towards it• Engineering Council registration (CEng/IEng) or working towards itAdditional InformationAbout AECOMAECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle - from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
