Mobile Forklift Engineer Location: Gloucester & Surrounding Areas Salary: £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 + Van & FC Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent Mobile Forklift Engineer - About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mobile Forklift Engineer to join a leading engineering team, providing on-site service, maintenance, and repair of forklift trucks and material handling equipment across a regional customer base. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for visiting customer sites, diagnosing faults, completing repairs, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. You’ll be working independently in the field while also being supported by a wider technical team. Mobile Forklift Engineer - Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain, and repair forklifts and material handling equipment at customer sites * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults * Carry out planned preventative maintenance * Respond to breakdowns and complete effective on-site repairs * Build strong relationships with customers during site visits * Complete accurate service reports and digital job records * Manage van stock and ensure required parts are available Mobile Forklift Engineer - What We’re Looking For We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in: * Forklift engineering or material handling equipment maintenance * Plant fitting, plant maintenance, or field service engineering * Vehicle mechanics, agricultural machinery, or powered access equipment Mobile Forklift Engineer - Essential / Preferred: * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical or engineering discipline (preferred but not essential) * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload * Comfortable using IT systems for job updates and reporting * Full UK driving licence Mobile Forklift Engineer - What’s on Offer * Fully equipped company service van * Monday to Friday working pattern (overtime available) * Shift premium and additional earning potential * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Additional holiday entitlement with long service * Company pension scheme (6% employer / 4% employee minimum) * Employee incentive schemes * Ongoing technical development and career progression opportunities * Laptop and mobile phone provided * Full specialist tooling supplied and maintained * PPE and branded workwear provided Mobile Forklift Engineer - Why Join?
