Your journey here is not just about a job; it's about a shared vision for a brighter, more sustainable future.Our Sutton-In-Ashfield plant specializes in the manufacturing of alarm, signal, control, and notification equipment designed for harsh and demanding environments.We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative setting and is driven to solve complex technical challenges.What you’ll do:You will be involved across the full product lifecycle, working closely with Product Line Management, certification bodies, and cross-functional teams to bring new products to market:Design mechanical products in line with specifications and NPD schedulesEnsure full compliance with Hazardous and Safe Area standardsPerform product testing, validation, and evaluationPrepare detailed production, certification, and technical documentationSupport product certification and engage directly with notified bodiesContribute to ProLaunch phase gates and deliverablesProvide technical support for product lifecycle, NPI, and ongoing improvementsCollaborate with global engineering teams, product management, and salesQualifications:BEng / HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)5+ years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally in a manufacturing environmentExperience in laboratory-based design, build, and test activitiesSkills:Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processesProficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Creo)Experience using SAP (BOMs, documentation)Understanding of hazardous area design and compliance standardsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and technical reporting abilityAble to work independently and as part of a teamWhat we offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageCareer progression within a global organisationAccess to training and development opportunitiesCollaborative, supportive team environmentOpportunity to work on innovative, high-impact products#LI-MM2All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. All candidates will be evaluated based on job-related competencies, and all candidates’ privacy rights and data security will be protected in accordance with applicable laws. We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
