About the role
Commercial Manager required for a long-term contract role, working on behalf of our client, a leading engineering and project delivery organisation, supporting the delivery of a major Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project.
This is a 12 month contract role, hybrid working, based in Surrey with an immediate start date.
Working within the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, you will act as the client’s commercial representative, supporting the successful delivery of FEED and EPC project phases while ensuring commercial objectives, budget controls, and contractual obligations are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead commercial activities across both pre-contract and post-contract phases.
• Support commercial strategy development, tender evaluations, bid reviews, and contract negotiations.
• Review and challenge contractor cost submissions, assumptions, risk allowances, and commercial proposals.
• Manage commercial risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities.
• Lead contractual clarifications, qualifications, and negotiation processes.
• Support tender interviews, client meetings, and contractor negotiations.
• Prepare commercial recommendations and approval documentation for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with commercial governance, audit requirements, and risk management procedures.
• Support project delivery teams through contract handover and ongoing commercial guidance.
Skills/experience required:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead, or Contracts Manager on major capital projects.
• Strong understanding of FEED, EPC, EPCM, or PMC project environments.
• Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation, tender evaluation, and commercial risk management.
• Experience working within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, Hydrogen, SAF, or related process industries.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or equivalent contract frameworks is advantageous.

Rate: £70-75 p/h (Ltd)
