HGV Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately.
Perform welding, fabrication, and soldering tasks as required to ensure vehicle integrity.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and equipment repair.
Carry out inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet operational standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during repairs.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle status and repairs needed.
Assist in the operation of forklifts and excavators when necessary for moving vehicles or equipment.

Skills

Proficient mechanical knowledge with experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
Strong electrical experience, capable of troubleshooting electrical systems within vehicles.
Familiarity with fabrication techniques, including welding and soldering skills.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for effective diagnostics.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques.
Experience in assembly processes related to vehicle components.
Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle maintenance tasks.

Pay: £38,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
