This is a high-impact permanent role, offering strategic oversight across the group’s operations and a chance to lead a committed SHEQ team working across multiple live projects.Based in North West London or the Soho office, with regular site presence, this role suits an experienced SHEQ leader looking to influence operational excellence, compliance, and culture across a business known for quality and delivery.Key Responsibilities:Health & SafetyLead policy and compliance across H&S regulations and CDM 2015Chair Safety & Environmental Committee meetings; report to the board monthlyEnsure proper investigation and reporting of accidents, near misses, and incidentsDevelop and implement SHEQ document control systemsSupport tender/bid teams with H&S input and guidanceEnsure CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, ISO 45001 accreditations are maintainedPromote a proactive, collaborative safety culture across projectsEnvironmentalMaintain and improve ISO 14001 accreditationOversee Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs) and environmental auditsEnsure environmental folders and waste paperwork are current across all sitesAudit waste suppliers and implement sustainability best practicesQualityManage ISO 9001 accreditation and documentationLead quality assurance audits across live projectsDrive continual improvement and standardisation in project deliveryTraining & DevelopmentOversee training compliance across site management and operational staffManage training records and internal development plansLiaise with subcontractors to support training initiatives where possibleRequirements:Chartered Member of IOSHDegree (or equivalent) or NEBOSH Level 6 DiplomaProven experience in a senior SHEQ leadership role within the construction industryDeep knowledge of UK H&S legislation and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)Track record managing safety across multiple project workstreamsAble to lead, mentor, and develop a team of SHEQ professionalsConfident communicator with the ability to influence at all levelsSalary & Benefits:100,000 – 110,000 base salary (DOE)25 days annual leave + bank holidaysAdditional leave entitlement with long serviceOption to purchase extra holidaysElectric car scheme (salary sacrifice)Medi-cash healthcare benefitCycle to work scheme1 paid volunteer day annuallyLong-term career progression within an established main contractor
