The position offers exposure to senior stakeholders, involvement in project financial performance and opportunities to develop within a wider finance function.The organisationOur client is an established business operating across the UK construction sector, with a portfolio of projects and opportunities for career development.The organisation promotes collaboration, employee wellbeing and professional development, providing opportunities to work with colleagues across its regional and central finance functions.As a Management Accountant, you'll join a finance team supporting a major construction project, gaining exposure to operational and commercial teams across the business.The role and responsibilitiesReporting to a Finance Business Partner, the Management Accountant will support the financial management of a major construction project, working alongside senior project and commercial stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting commentary.Monitoring cash flow, working capital and project costs.Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts, quarterly reviews and group reporting packs.Analysing financial performance against forecasts and identifying key variances.Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting year-end audit requirements.Maintaining financial controls across payments, purchase-to-pay processes, VAT and other taxes.Working with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making.Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and controls.Skills and requirementsWe're looking for a qualified Management Accountant who combines technical accounting knowledge with an interest in commercial finance.The successful candidate will bring:A recognised professional accounting qualification.Working knowledge of management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting.Experience preparing management information and analysing financial performance.An understanding of cash flow management, cost control and balance sheet reporting.The ability to communicate financial information to operational and commercial stakeholders.Confidence working with financial systems and reporting tools.The ability to manage reporting deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.Flexibility to travel to business and project locations when required.Experience within construction or another project-based environment would be beneficial, alongside working knowledge of Oracle or Power BI, although these are not essential.What's on offer?Salary of 45,000-55,000 per annum.Permanent opportunity within an established UK construction business.Flexible working arrangements, subject to business and project requirements.Exposure to senior project and commercial stakeholders.Involvement in the financial management of a major construction project.Opportunities for professional development and career progression within the wider finance function.Interested?If you're a Management Accountant looking to broaden your commercial exposure and contribute to a major construction project, we'd welcome your application.Apply now to be considered as applications are reviewed.Due to the volume of applications received, if you don't hear back from us, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.If you require any adjustments or additional support during the recruitment process for any reason whatsoever, please let your Cobalt consultant know.
