Description

A well‑maintained hotel has a direct positive impact on guest satisfaction. Another Star is looking for a solid hotel maintenance engineer who can help us change its maintenance organization from reactive to preventive. A proactive mindset combined with curiosity and a sociable personality are very important elements for this role.

Reporting To

Area maintenance manager

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure our rooms are working and nothing is damaged.
• Inform the hotel team which rooms can and cannot be sold.
• Support the hotel team with technical tasks throughout the hotel.
• Be on call in case of emergencies.
• Manage and coordinate 3rd‑party subcontractors for preventive maintenance.
• Be the first point of contact for any issues with building installations.
• Execute water and fire risk assessments and contribute to hotel safety.
• Keep everybody informed by updating status to the hotel team and in the supporting software.

Qualifications / Skills

• All‑round technical assistant with basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic knowledge of computer software (email, Excel, Word) and willingness to learn new programs.
• Good communication and writing skills in English.
• Eager to learn and develop yourself.
• Comfortable with unpredictable challenges; no 9‑to‑5 mentality.
• Proactive and enthusiastic.
• Team‑player, happy to work alongside citizenM Glasgow hotel staff and Another Star’s Support Office.
• Passionate about the work you do.
