About the role

Our established client is seeking an experienced Depot Manager (commercial vehicles), the role is permanent, full time – no hybrid working available: Job Title: Depot Manager Location: Reading Salary: Competitive, paid monthly – disclosed on initial phone call Hours: 42.5 hours per week Reports to: General Manager Benefits include: * Company car * 24 days annual leave per year + duvet day * Carryover up to 5 days annual leave per year * 1 x Life Assurance * Company Pension contribution of up to 5% * Private Medical Insurance * 10% annual bonus As Depot Manager you will lead and manage the day-to-day aftersales operations of the depot, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective running of all workshop activities. The role requires a strong focus on customer service, health and safety, people management, and maximizing profitability. Depot Manager Leadership & Management * Lead, motivate, and develop the service, parts, and administrative teams to deliver excellent performance and customer satisfaction. * Conduct regular performance reviews and address training needs and identify and implement a training plan for all depot staff * Selection and recruitment of staff in all departments * Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. * Manage staffing levels, recruitment, and rota planning Depot Manager skills/experience ▪ Excellent understanding of HGV service, repair, and maintenance processes. ▪ Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. ▪ Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills. ▪ Proactive, results-driven, and commercially minded. ▪ Ability to plan, prioritise, and problem-solve under pressure. ▪ Resilient under pressure and capable of problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. ▪ Strong customer service focus with ability to build long-term relationships. ▪ Committed to continuous improvement and developing others. ▪ Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements ▪ IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office and workshop management systems. ▪ Commercial awareness with a track record of achieving financial targets. ▪ Current driving license (desirable HGV license)
