Accounts Semi-Senior Folkestone, Kent | Office based Location: Folkestone, Kent (office based) Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Contract: Permanent, full time Qualification: Part-qualified AAT, ACA or ACCA (or studying) Got a few years in practice behind you and know your way around bookkeeping, VAT and year-end accounts? This Folkestone role is a chance to take on your own clients and keep building towards qualification. ABOUT THE FIRM My client is a well-established local practice that's part of a large UK and Ireland accountancy and business advisory group. It's a friendly, close-knit office working with local businesses, but with the training, resources and specialist colleagues of a much bigger organisation behind it. THE ROLE You'll look after the bookkeeping, VAT and year-end accounts for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, working from the clients' own records. You'll also help with personal and corporation tax returns, working closely with the seniors and managers to get everything done on time. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Bookkeeping and preparing accounts for a portfolio of clients Preparing VAT returns Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Helping with personal and corporation tax returns Working with senior colleagues to hit deadlines and budgets Helping improve how the team works WHO THIS WILL SUIT Part-qualified AAT, ACA or ACCA, or actively studying At least 2 to 3 years' experience in practice Good working knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation Confident with Excel and Microsoft Office Organised, accurate and happy working with minimal supervision WHAT'S ON OFFER Your own client portfolio in a supportive local team Genuine scope for career growth as you progress through your exams 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 more Office closure over Christmas Life assurance at 4x salary, pension, and enhanced family leave and sick pay Flexible benefits, including dental and cycle to work GET IN TOUCH If you're an accounts semi-senior or experienced AAT in East Kent looking for your next step, I'd love to hear from you.
