Smoke Ventilation Design Engineer

A specialist contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Smoke Ventilation Design Engineer. The role focuses on the design, estimation and technical development of mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems across residential and mixed-use developments.Working closely with fire engineers, consultants and project teams, you will be responsible for developing compliant smoke control solutions, preparing project costings and supporting projects through design, Gateway 2 compliance and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically focused business delivering complex smoke control and life safety systems on high-profile developments.RequirementsProven experience designing smoke ventilation or smoke control systemsExperience with smoke shafts, corridor ventilation and stair pressurisation systemsAbility to interpret fire strategies, CFD modelling outputs and architectural drawingsExperience preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissionsStrong understanding of relevant smoke control standards and regulationsExperience using AutoCAD or similar design softwareStrong technical communication and coordination skillsDesirableExperience supporting Gateway 2 submissionsKnowledge of smoke ventilation control systems and fire alarm integrationExperience working on residential or high-rise developmentsExperience using Simpro or similar estimating softwarePackage55,000 – 65,000 Office-based role in Essex with occasional site visitsOpportunity to work on large and technically complex residential developmentsOngoing training and professional developmentPension schemeLong-term career progression within a growing specialist contractorInterested in hearing more?
