- £35,000 A long-established independent education site set within extensive landscaped grounds is seeking a skilled General Builder to join its in-house Estates team.
This is a varied and hands-on role supporting the maintenance and upkeep of a large and diverse estate, featuring both historic and modern buildings.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary estates department, contributing to planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and general building works across the site.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive building maintenance across a varied estate Undertake general building, paving, external works, roofing repairs and maintenance Support drainage maintenance including gulley clearing, gutter cleaning, and roof clearing Assist with erection and safe use of access equipment including scaffold towers Support the escorting of contractors on site when required Transport and distribute materials across site for maintenance activities Contribute to planned preventative maintenance programmes Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently Maintain strong compliance with Health & Safety procedures (including COSHH, PUWER, Working at Height) Ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and attention to detail at all times Requirements Multi-trade building experience (general building background essential) Proven experience in maintenance or construction environments Ability to manage a varied workload across multiple tasks/projects Full UK driving licence Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements on site Desirable (Not Essential) Experience within educational or regulated environments Knowledge of Building Regulations PASMA and/or IPAF certification Basic plumbing experience Working Pattern & Benefits Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

- 4.30pm 5 weeks holiday plus UK Bank Holidays Free Lunches provided Additional flexibility during school holiday periods (with some restrictions during peak periods) Christmas to New Year site closure (emergency cover only) Overtime and flexibility may be required depending on workload Use of gym facilities This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on multi-trade professional looking for a stable, long-term role within a well-maintained and structured estate environment offering variety, responsibility, and job security. xwzovoh
