About the role
Role Overview
The Warehouse Porter is responsible for ensuring that all client orders are accurately prepared and processed, while liaising with drivers to ensure that all items are correctly loaded and unloaded for collections and returns.
The role involves carefully checking returned props, identifying and reporting any damage, and ensuring that all items are returned to their correct locations within the warehouse. The Warehouse Porter will also maintain a general oversight of the warehouse and provide support to other teams as required.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Check client orders and accurately prepare and pack hired props for collection.
* Unload, unpack and inspect returned items, identifying and reporting any damage or missing items.
* Complete damage reports accurately following appropriate training.
* Return all items to their correct warehouse locations, ensuring they are displayed neatly and appropriately.
* Code, label and organise items as required.
* Check the condition and functionality of working parts to ensure they are operating correctly.
* Liaise with sales staff and the Loss & Damages Department to report and resolve damaged or faulty items.
* Liaise with the Display Team and provide assistance where required.
* Assist with loading and unloading activities, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe loading bay and warehouse environment.
* Comply with all statutory requirements and company policies relating to hygiene, health and safety.
* Provide general support across the warehouse and assist colleagues as required to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
* Work efficiently and accurately to meet operational deadlines and maintain high standards of service.

* Excellent organisational skills with a proactive approach to work.
* Good computer literacy and confidence using basic computer systems.
* Professional and effective telephone manner.
* Ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet set deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Good attention to detail, particularly when checking orders, returned items and potential damage.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm
