- £34,000 per annum Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Customs Clearance Coordinator on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business based in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customs or freight professional to join a busy, fast-paced operation where accuracy, organisation and customer service are key.
The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customs clearance processes from start to finish, ensuring all documentation, duties and VAT payments are completed accurately and efficiently to enable the timely release of consignments.
You will work closely with customers, suppliers, HMRC and internal teams to coordinate clearances and deliveries while maintaining high service standards throughout.
Duties Will Include (but not limited to): Preparing quotations for new customs clearance accounts Completing customs entries using internal systems and submitting to HMRC Raising and managing customer files and documentation Securing cleared funds for COD accounts and duty/VAT invoices Negotiating haulage and delivery rates with suppliers Organising deliveries in line with customer requirements Processing and checking invoices Monitoring uncleared entries daily Completing sales invoicing in a timely manner Liaising with HMRC, Border Force and other relevant authorities Responding to customer queries across phone and email Maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering excellent service Filing and archiving completed job files Criteria: Minimum 2 years' experience within imports, sea freight or customs clearance Experience handling GB/NI and international customs processes Strong working knowledge of HMRC Customs Clearance and CNS systems Experience xwzovoh using customs clearance software Good understanding of the freight forwarding industry Excellent administration and organisational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths What's on Offer: Opportunity to join a growing and established logistics business Supportive and collaborative team environment Long-term career progression opportunities Exposure to international freight and customs operations Ashton Recruitment is acting as a recruitment agency
