An excellent opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function of our client that is an established £4-5m manufacturing business, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Finance Manager – £40,000–£50,000 (Dependent on experience)
Location: Chesterfield, S41
Holidays: 23 days + statutory (3 days to be taken between Christmas & New Year)
Hours: 08:45 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday, 08:45 - 16:00 Friday Our client is also open to a potential job share
Replacing a long-standing employee who is retiring after 30 years’ service, they are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join their growing business, which has been established for over 40 years.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, providing strategic insight and supporting business growth through accurate reporting and financial control as well as doing the day-to-day finance duties.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and partnering with key stakeholders across the business to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Monitor cashflow, working capital and financial performance against targets.
* Analyse financial data and provide insights to senior management team.
* Credit control - Minimising outstanding debt ensuring customers pay to credit terms, chasing payments, resolutions of invoice queries with sales team.
* Sales ledger - Posting cash, raising credits, setting up new customer accounts and agreeing terms, taking card payments, creating sales invoices & delivery notes.
* Purchase ledger - Matching supplier delivery notes to invoices, inputting invoices, resolutions of invoice queries with purchasing team, payment of purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, running a cash book.
* VAT - Dealing with VAT returns and any necessary communication with HMRC along with their Chartered Company Accountancy Firm.
* Reports - Producing month end sales & purchase ledger reports for senior management.
Key skills:
* Professional qualification such as AAT are desirable.
* Proven experience in Finance Management or Senior Finance role.
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Highly motivated and organised.
* Works well individually and as part of a team
* Full computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Sage or other similar accounting software
* Strong communication skills
* Works well under pressure to achieve deadlines
