Our client is seeking a Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer to join an established defence and aerospace engineering team in Kent. This permanent, onsite role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of safety-critical electronics and advanced technology, including helmet-mounted and head-up displays, mission computers, flight controls and active inceptors.Key Responsibilities:Leading hardware requirements capture, preliminary design and detailed design activitiesExecuting complex digital and/or analogue electronics design tasks in line with agreed development plansCarrying out analysis and validation activities to support robust technical decisionsProviding technical guidance throughout the complete systems development lifecycle, from concept through to product certificationWorking with multidisciplinary teams to optimise solutions and manage technical dependenciesSupporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality hardware solutions within agreed timescales and budgetsContributing to product design and work package control, with consideration for cost and schedule requirementsCoaching and developing junior members of the hardware engineering teamJob Requirements:Degree, HND or equivalent experience in electronics engineeringSignificant experience in electronics design or hardware engineering within a regulated industryStrong knowledge of digital and/or analogue electronics technologiesExperience working across the full engineering development lifecycle, including product certification requirements such as DO-254Understanding of systems engineering, hardware standards and safety-critical product developmentAbility to balance design quality, cost and schedule constraints to meet programme objectivesRobust understanding of product design and work package controlFamiliarity with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise, SIMetrix and LTspice toolsStrong analytical, problem-solving and technical communication skillsBenefits:Opportunity to work on innovative defence, aerospace and security projectsExposure to safety-critical electronics and advanced hardware technologiesSupportive, multidisciplinary working environmentProfessional development and career progression opportunitiesAccess to learning, wellbeing and lifestyle supportIf you are an experienced Hardware Engineer looking to develop your career through technically challenging projects in the defence and aerospace sector, apply now to join our client's experienced team in Kent.
