Highways Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a Highways/Traffic Technician with experience in AutoCAD Design to join a client in London. Your main duties include designing and delivering a variety of highway and public realm related schemes including cycling lanes, pedestrian walkways, active travel and sustainable transport programmes as well as junction improvements and development related infrastructure. Weekly site visits are also required.   This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £32 - £35 per hour - negotiable for the right candidate and dependent on experience. Flexible working arrangements and working from home opportunities are available.   Working within the Highways team your main duties include:   - Using AutoCAD to design a range of highways and public realm schemes - Working in conjunction with the lead engineers and project managers to deliver the schemes on time and within budget - Developing concepts and feasibility studies for traffic and transport improvement related schemes - Ensuring all designs meet the standards and are compliant with the DMRB and the Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides   Previous experience in Civil Engineering is essential for this role.
