Role: HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E)
Job Type: Temp to Perm (Permanent after 12 weeks)
Shifts: Monday to Friday (Days)
Overtime: Occasional Saturdays available
Pay Rates (PAYE – Including Holiday Pay)
£17.00 per hour (£19.06 with holiday pay) – first 52.5 hours
£21.00 per hour (£23.54 with holiday pay) – after 52.5 hours
Saturday Overtime: £25.50 per hour (£28.58 with holiday pay)
(30-minute break deducted daily)
The Role – Class 1 Steel Driver
We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well-established steel distribution operation based in Scunthorpe.
This role involves delivering steel products to customers across the UK, working with a modern fleet and well-organised transport team.
Duties include:
Delivering steel products to commercial and industrial sites
Securing loads safely using ratchet straps and chains
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork
Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
Adhering to driver hours, tachograph, and health & safety regulations
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience
Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
Maximum 6 points (no major endorsements)
Experience with flatbed or steel work is necessary
Comfortable with load securing (strapping/chaining)
Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
