The practice is committed to continuous improvement in patient care, client service, and team wellbeing. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Surgeon role based in Broadstairs. The Veterinary Surgeon will perform consultations, diagnose medical conditions, develop treatment plans, and carry out routine and complex surgical procedures. Daily responsibilities include conducting clinical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and monitoring in-patients. The role also involves overseeing anesthesia, performing minor procedures, and ensuring accurate medical records. The Veterinary Surgeon will provide clear, empathetic communication to pet guardians, collaborate closely with veterinary nurses and support staff, and contribute to clinical protocols and practice standards. Participation in rota-based coverage, including some evenings or weekends, may be required. Strong clinical foundation in Veterinary Medicine and general Medicine, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of small animal conditions. Open to a sponsor visa if needed for the right applicant. Accommodation can also be provided. Demonstrated proficiency in Veterinary Surgery, including routine soft tissue and, ideally, some orthopedic procedures. Competence in Pet Care and patient handling, with a focus on welfare, low-stress approaches, and pain management. Laboratory Skills for in-house diagnostics, including sample collection, interpretation of results, and appropriate follow-up. Recognized veterinary degree (e.g., MRCVS or eligibility for registration with the relevant veterinary governing body). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with practice management and medical record systems. Commitment to continuing professional development and keeping current with advances in veterinary care.
