Lead Software Engineer (up to £150k)

The Role This is an AI software company building a platform for decision intelligence and AI agents, tackling critical real‑world problems in sectors such as healthcare and defence. The company has a proven track record, including a publicly cited project that saved hundreds of thousands of lives, and operates as an independent entity within a major global technology firm after a significant acquisition.

You will join a cross‑functional Solutions squad, leading core technical contributions to the flagship Frontier product. In this entrepreneurial position you will design and implement customer‑facing features—from developer APIs to user experiences—while shaping best practices and scaling the product. The role requires building and defining solutions from the ground up, working closely with live customer feedback.

The Work

Design and build customer‑facing product components, from developer APIs to user experiences.

Lead technical architecture and implementation for scalable, production‑grade features.

Drive technical best practices and contribute to the scaling strategy of a core AI platform.

Develop reusable solutions in Python and TypeScript, directly impacting real‑world outcomes in critical sectors.

Collaborate cross‑functionally, integrating live customer feedback into product development.

What You Bring

Proven experience leading web development with React and TypeScript, plus backend engineering in Python or Node.

Strong system architecture and design skills, with a track record of implementing automated testing across the full test pyramid.

Production expertise with PostgreSQL, CI/CD (e.g., GitLab), containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Ability to autonomously tackle complex technical problems and drive solutions in a cross‑functional, fast‑paced setting.
