Technical Manager

STEM Recruitment Solutions are working with a global manufacturing business to recruit a Technical Manager for their Glasgow operation. This is a key leadership role within the site and will suit a technically strong individual with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and technical products. The role would particularly suit someone coming from a chemistry, chemical manufacturing, materials, or industrial process environment who enjoys combining technical problem solving with team leadership and continuous improvement activities. You will operate as the senior technical lead onsite, bridging the gap between operational teams and technical expertise while driving improvements across manufacturing, quality, and process performance. Responsibilities: * Lead and develop the site technical engineering team * Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and plant performance * Support process optimisation, investigations, and technical problem solving * Work closely with production, quality, and wider business teams * Support audits, compliance activities, and change management processes * Use data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities * Manage departmental priorities, KPIs, and technical projects * Contribute to wider site leadership and operational strategy Requirements: * Degree qualified in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or similar technical discipline * Previous experience within a manufacturing, chemical, technical products, or industrial processing environment * Experience leading technical, engineering, or process-focused teams * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Continuous improvement mindset with a data-driven approach * Comfortable working across multiple functions within a manufacturing business What’s on Offer: * Senior leadership role within an established global manufacturer with lots of autonomy * Salary starting from £60,000+ * Opportunity to influence site performance and future direction * Collaborative and supportive working environment STEM Recruitment Solutions Ltd operates as both a Recruitment Agency and a Recruitment Business.
