We are partnering with a highly respected specialist school in Bristol that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex additional needs. The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join its experienced and supportive team.

The Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will:
- Support pupils with autism and complex needs throughout the school day
- Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to promote learning and personal development
- Assist with classroom activities and structured learning programmes
- Support pupils with daily routines, transitions, and social interactions
- Contribute to the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff
About You
This role would suit someone who:
- Has at least one year of experience supporting children with autism
- Is confident working with pupils who have complex additional needs
- Is comfortable supporting personal care where required
- Has experience using behaviour management strategies
- Has knowledge of PECS and/or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
- Brings patience, resilience, positivity, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
Pre-Employment Requirements
To complete the clearance process, you will need:
- A valid passport or proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Two proofs of address (e.g. driving licence, utility bill, or council tax statement)
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years of employment and/or education, with any gaps explained
- References covering the last two years, including relevant childcare or support work experience
- An enhanced DBS check (support available if required)
- An Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad for more than three months within the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
