Chargehand (Civils) Temporary to Permanent Opportunity Bodmin £37,175 – £42,656 DOE + Paid Travel + Vehicle Provided Full-Time (45 hours per week) We’re looking for an experienced Civils Chargehand to join a growing team based in Bodmin, Cornwall. This is a temporary full-time role with a strong opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. The Role * Lead and supervise a small team (up to 6 operatives) * Deliver high-quality civils work including kerbing, drainage, and hand-laying tarmac * Organise plant, materials, and day-to-day site activities * Carry out daily briefings and maintain accurate site records * Ensure compliance with RAMS and safe working practices * Read and interpret utility drawings and construction plans What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in a Civils Chargehand or similar role * Strong leadership and people management skills * Competent across a range of manual civils duties * Ability to read drawings and use CAT & Genny equipment * Confident problem-solver with a “can-do” attitude * Comfortable dealing with the public on-site Essential * Valid CSCS Card * NRSWA Operative * Full UK Driving Licence (LGV desirable) * Ability to securely park a 3.5t vehicle at home Desirable * SSSTS * Experience operating small plant (dumpers, mini excavators, roller) What’s On Offer * Company vehicle provided (travel to/from site paid after first 30 mins each way) * Competitive salary based on experience * Immediate start available * Opportunity to secure a permanent position If you’re ready to step into a key leadership role and make an impact, apply now or get in touch with Jane @Jobline today
