Mechanical Design Engineer

We are currently supporting a leading engineering business within the water treatment sector in their search for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a long term contract, outside ir35 with remote working considered (must be based in the UK). The RoleYou will act as the sole Mechanical Engineer across several concurrent projects, taking ownership of mechanical design input, specification, and procurement activities. Key responsibilities include:Specifying and procuring pumps, blowers, and steelwork fabricationsSupporting delivery of multiple medium-scale water treatment projectsWorking closely with suppliers and fabrication partners across the UKAttending factory acceptance tests (FATs) at various UK sitesEnsuring engineering solutions are delivered to quality, cost, and schedule requirementsAbout YouWe are looking for a self-sufficient and fast-learning engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of their work. Ideally you will have:Minimum 5 years’ Mechanical Engineering experienceBackground in a supplier, contractor, or manufacturing environment (preferred over consultancy or water utility experience)Experience with mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, and fabricated steelworkStrong practical engineering and procurement exposureAbility to work independently across multiple projectsA full UK driving licence and ability to travel is essential.Only those with proof of right to work in the UK should apply for this position.
