Senior PMO Manager

600-650 / day (inside IR35)

London / Glasgow / Cardiff - 1 day a week onsite

The Senior PMO Manager will lead the development and maturation of the Programme Management Office (PMO) within the Directorate. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective governance, assurance, planning and delivery support across a complex portfolio of regulatory, operational and transformation programmes. This includes designing, embedding and continually improving PMO standards, frameworks and processes to support consistent, high-quality delivery.

Working closely with senior leaders, the role provides insight and control to enable informed decision-making, supports portfolio prioritisation and helps optimise the use of resources. The post holder will drive improvements in programme, project and portfolio management capability, ensuring that delivery approaches are aligned with strategic objectives. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence at senior levels are key to success in this role.

The PMO operates as a centre of excellence and it is responsible for governance, planning, assurance, reporting and capability-building, ensuring alignment of the portfolio with organisational strategy and enabling programmes to deliver measurable value for money.
