About the role
Butler Ross are pleased to be recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) on behalf of our client operating in the marine sector. This is an exciting opportunity, suitable for someone with previous experience as a Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Engineer, or alternatively someone new to the field with transferable skills in quality, manufacutring or inspection.
In this position you will be ensuring that all materials and components supplied to manufacturing facilities meet the organisations quality standards, and supporting these suppliers, helping them to develop and improve their quality systems and ensuring compliance to requirements.
This opportunity is offering a salary of £35-42,000 (negotiable depending on experience), and operates on a hybrid-working basis (to be discussed). This position does include some international travel liaising with warehouse teams and suppliers, so individuals must be comfortable with travel and able to stay away for 2 or so nights at a time.
Desired Experience
Attitude - Having a desire and determination and an interest in problem-solving is crucial; skills and knowledge can be taught!
Some prior experience/background in quality, manufacturing or engineering
Any familiarity with any quality systems, methodologies, controls, or processes - for example: PPAP, APQP, 5Y, 8S, 8D, ISO's etc. would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management & Development - Build strong supplier relationships with new and existing suppliers, conducting regular audits, assessments and performance reviews.
Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure supplier compliance with company standards and regulations, reviewing control plans and quality documentation.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement - Monitoring supplier quality metrics and solving supplier quality and non-conformance issues
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Working with engineering, purchasing, production, and logistics teams.
