Up to 60000 per annumSouthampton, England Permanent Mechanical Manager - Ship RepairOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Manager with a background in ship repair to lead and oversee vessel maintenance, refit, and repair activities. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead delivery of ship repair, maintenance, and refit projects Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, production, subcontractors)Oversee mechanical scope including inspection, repair, installation, and testing of marine systemsAct as primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholdersEnsure compliance with HSE, quality, and regulatory standardsManage budgets, schedules, and resource planningMonitor progress, mitigate risks, and resolve delivery issuesSupport tendering, estimating, and planning for new workDrive continuous improvement across ship repair operationsEssential RequirementsMinimum 5 years' experience within ship repair, dry dock operations, or vessel maintenanceStrong mechanical background within marine or heavy engineering environmentsProven experience managing complex maintenance or refit projectsSolid understanding of marine mechanical systems and repair methodsExperience managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectationsStrong leadership and team management capabilityEffective communication and problem-solving skillsDesirableExperience in naval, commercial marine, or defence sectorsKnowledge of marine regulations and class requirementsRelevant engineering qualification (mechanical or marine)Location - SouthamptonSalary - 60,000If you are an experienced Mechanical Manager looking to advance your career and contribute to exciting projects within the marine sector, we encourage you to apply now and join our client's dynamic team in Southampton.
