We are seeking Safety Consultants at multiple levels to support high-profile Defence and National Security programmes. This is an opportunity to provide expert system safety advice across complex, safety-critical environments working with MOD, DE&S, prime contractors, and Defence partners.
The role You will deliver through-life safety support across the project lifecycle, including:
Hazard identification and analysis (HAZID, FHA, FTA)
Risk assessment and ALARP justification
Hazard management and safety assurance
Safety case development and review
Technical documentation and assurance evidence
Participation in safety reviews, working groups, and assurance boards
Depending on experience, you may also mentor junior consultants and contribute to bids and customer engagements.
What we're looking for Essential
Engineering qualification (Level 4 or above)
Experience in system safety engineering within Defence, aerospace, nuclear, transport, or another high-integrity industry
Strong understanding of hazard analysis, risk management, safety cases, and safety assurance
Knowledge of UK safety legislation, standards, and regulatory frameworks
Excellent stakeholder communication skills
Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC minimum)
Desirable
MOD / DE&S programme experience
Consultancy background
Front Line Command (Air, Land, or Maritime) experience
Knowledge of software safety, reliability, human factors, environmental xwzovoh safety, or cyber safety
Working towards IEng registration
