English Teacher (Long-Term Supply)
About the role
Moore Teachers is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher for a long-term supply position at a thriving secondary school in Borehamwood. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to join a supportive school environment and make a meaningful impact on students' progress and attainment.The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of literature and language while maintaining high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
Duties as an English Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach English Language and Literature across secondary year groups
Assess, monitor, and support student progress
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
Prepare students for internal and external assessments
Work collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
Attend relevant meetings and contribute to school life where required
Uphold safeguarding and welfare responsibilities at all timesIdeal English Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
Strong organisational and communication skills
Flexible, professional, and reliable approach
