Job Description Head of Family – Partner Track | Merry Hill, West Midlands | 6+ PQE | £Competitive /n Are you an ambitious Family Solicitor looking for a genuine opportunity to lead, grow and progress towards Partnership? /n A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Family to lead its established Family team from its Merry Hill office. /n This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Family lawyer who is looking for more than simply another fee-earning position. You will have the autonomy and support to develop the department, grow the client base, shape strategy and build a high-performing team, with progression to Partner and membership of the Board actively encouraged for the right individual. /n The Role /n As Head of Family, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the Family department, whilst continuing to handle a high-quality caseload of privately funded matters. /n You will work closely with the firm's Partners and Business Development team to increase the department's profile, develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with professional referrers and existing clients. /n Your responsibilities will include: /n Leading and developing the Family team /n Managing a broad caseload of privately funded family matters /n Developing the department's strategy and identifying opportunities for growth /n Building relationships with clients and professional introducers /n Working alongside Marketing and BD to generate new work /n Supporting recruitment, training and development /n Managing departmental billing, profitability and performance /n Providing supervision and mentoring to junior members of the team /n Conducting appraisals, file reviews and performance management /n Ensuring excellent client care and regulatory compliance /n Representing the firm within the local professional and business community /n About You /n The successful candidate is likely to be a Family Solicitor with 6+ years' PQE, although applications from individuals with the appropriate level of experience will be considered. /n You will have a strong background in privately funded Family Law and ideally experience of supervising or managing a team. /n You will also have: /n Excellent technical knowledge across private family matters /n Strong client-care and relationship-building skills /n A proven ability to develop work and build a personal profile /n Commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability /n Strong leadership and people-management skills /n Excellent communication and networking abilities /n The confidence to represent the firm externally /n Ambition to progress your career and contribute at a strategic level /n Whether you are already operating as a Head of Department/Senior Associate or are an experienced Family Solicitor ready to take your first step into departmental leadership, this is an opportunity to make your mark. /n The Opportunity /n The firm offers a supportive and collaborative environment, genuine autonomy and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the business. /n Most importantly, this is a role with a clear route towards Partnership and Board membership for the right candidate. /n If you are a Family Solicitor looking for a genuine leadership opportunity with a clear path to Partnership, this could be an excellent next move. /n
