About the role

Commissioning Engineers – Transmission Substations (132/220/400kV) Location: Creag Dhubh, Scotland Contract Duration: July 2026 – April 2027 IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Spencer Ogden is seeking 2 experienced Commissioning Engineers to support a major transmission substation project at Creag Dhubh. We are looking for commissioning professionals with proven experience working on 132kV, 220kV, and 400kV transmission substations and a strong background in testing, protection systems, and commissioning activities. Key Responsibilities Testing and commissioning of CTs and VTs Checking and validating protection schemes, including busbar protection Interface testing of: Transformers Circuit Breakers (CBs) Reactors GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Conducting primary injection testing Conducting secondary injection testing Supporting commissioning activities in line with project and safety requirements Requirements Demonstrable experience commissioning high-voltage transmission substations (132kV–400kV) Strong understanding of protection and control systems Experience with primary and secondary injection testing Ability to work independently in a commissioning environment Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and authorisations preferred What's on Offer?
