About the role

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded main contractor delivering a range of high-quality construction projects across London. Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional seeking long-term progression within a reputable contractor working across complex and prestigious schemes. The Role The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational and senior leadership teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently. Projects will primarily include care homes alongside a variety of general main contracting schemes across London. Key Responsibilities Managing the commercial delivery of construction projects from inception to completion Preparing and managing cost reports, valuations, and forecasts Producing accurate CVRs and commercial reporting Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Preparing applications for payment and agreeing variations Supporting project delivery teams to achieve commercial objectives Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements Requirements Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment Previous experience delivering care home projects is highly desirable Strong understanding of general main contracting and project delivery Excellent knowledge of commercial management and cost control Experience producing CVRs and managing project reporting Strong contractual and negotiation skills Ability to manage projects independently while working collaboratively with wider teams Excellent communication and organisational skills Package Salary of £80,000 - £85,000 Competitive overall package Long-term career progression opportunities Secure pipeline of London-based projects Supportive and collaborative working environment This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing contractor with an excellent reputation and a strong pipeline of upcoming work across London
