Hire Controller 📍 Location: Central Scotland 💷 Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE 🚐 Full-Time | Permanent We're recruiting on behalf of a growing and ambitious business for a Hire Contoller to join their busy operations team. This is a varied role combining depot administration, hire coordination and hands-on operational support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The Role You'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the depot, supporting hire operations, coordinating transport, managing stock and assisting with general labouring duties as required. Working closely with engineers, suppliers and customers, you'll help ensure equipment is prepared, organised and delivered efficiently while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities * Coordinate equipment hires and support the day-to-day running of the depot. * Assist with stock control, equipment movements and inventory management. * Arrange and coordinate transport and deliveries. * Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring it is ready for dispatch. * Support loading, unloading and general depot labouring duties. * Maintain accurate records and update internal systems. * Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure a smooth hire process. * Assist with general administration, documentation and reporting. * Help maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment. About You * Previous experience within hire control, depot operations, logistics or a similar environment is desirable. * Strong organisational and administrative skills. * Comfortable carrying out both office-based and hands-on operational duties. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Good IT skills and confidence using internal systems. * Able to prioritise workload and work well under pressure. * A proactive, flexible team player with a positive attitude. * Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
