Academic Scribe / Transcriptionist

Freelance Academic Scribe, Remote, £35–£45 per hour

We are looking for an experienced academic scribe to provide occasional, ad hoc support to a leading academic and author.

The work will be carried out live via Zoom with a shared screen, working alongside the academic as he develops and dictates material for journal articles and other academic work.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with academics, researchers, authors or publishers
• Has a good understanding of academic writing and conventions
• Has excellent typing skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Is confident with footnotes, references and bibliographies
• Has experience with academic footnote/reference software
• Is highly proficient in Microsoft Word
• Is comfortable working collaboratively and accurately in real time
• Understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality

A degree or academic background would be advantageous. Use of Oxford style footnotes beneficial. xwzovoh

This is flexible, project-based freelance work, initially supporting the preparation of a journal article, with the potential for further assignments.
