CNC Sliding Head Turner | CNC Sliding Head Programmer | CNC Setter Operator | Swiss-Type Machinist South Devon | £45,000-£55,000 + Overtime | Permanent | Precision Engineering Introduction Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of an established precision engineering business in South Devon for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on Star and Citizen sliding-head machinery who is looking for a long-term, permanent position within a specialist manufacturing environment. Long-term career opportunity with an established employer. Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machinery. Working with Star and Citizen machines. Programming using Fanuc controls. Producing precision, fine-tolerance components. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Carrying out quality checks and maintaining high production standards. Working with small-diameter/fine-tube components. Supporting efficient production and maintaining machine performance. Requirements We are looking for an experienced CNC machinist with a strong background in sliding-head/Swiss-type machining. You should have: Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machines. Experience with Star SJ10 and/or SW12 machines. Experience with Citizen machinery. Good knowledge of Fanuc controls. CNC programming skills. The ability to work accurately to tight tolerances. The ability to read and understand engineering drawings. A methodical approach to quality and precision. Experience within electronics, opto-electronics, or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be advantageous. Interested?
