About the role

Backend Engineer – Contract

Location: Remote-first (occasional flexibility required)
Rate: £575 per day, Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Clearance: Active SC required

Our client is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to act as the technical lead for backend development within a pod, specialising in event-driven architecture and CQRS-based systems.

Key requirements:

Strong CQRS experience – essential.
Event-driven architecture and Event Sourcing.
Strong .NET / C# development experience (Java also considered).
Azure Service Bus and wider Azure experience.
API development and distributed systems.
Experience providing technical leadership within a development team.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a technically complex project within a UK public sector environment.
