Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant - Southport Primary School
Location: Southport
Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Temporary - Full Time Pay: £109.85 per day
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a primary school in Southport who are seeking an Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs on a full-time basis.
This role involves supporting children who require consistent, structured and reliable support due to SEND, including behavioural, emotional, physical and communication needs. The school are therefore looking for someone who can demonstrate strong reliability, punctuality and commitment, as consistency is essential to pupil progress, engagement and wellbeing.
Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, medical support roles or specialist education environments, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group SEND support within the classroom.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Assist pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
- Work alongside the class teacher to adapt learning and maintain structure.
- Help pupils access the primary curriculum and build confidence.
- Develop strong, consistent relationships with pupils.
- Maintain high levels of punctuality and attendance.
Essential Experience:
Applicants must have experience supporting children or young people with:
- SEND or additional learning needs
- Behavioural or emotional regulation needs
- Speech, language or communication needs
- Physical or medical needs (desirable)
- Care, residential or similar support backgrounds
