Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of industrial automation and packaging machinery. This Field Service Engineer role will suit an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding and working on customer sites across a range of manufacturing environments.
The successful Field Service Engineer can be based anywhere in the UK. The Field Service Engineer position is heavily site-based and could suit a Service Engineer at the earlier stages of their career who is progressing well and wants to accelerate their development in a hands-on, customer-facing role.
Key aspects of the Field Service Engineer role include
Carrying out service, maintenance and fault finding on automated machinery across FMCG, food and automotive environments
Performing testing and diagnostics to ensure equipment is fully operational before handover
Delivering training to customers on operation and basic maintenance of machinery
Completing preventative maintenance activities and installing retrofit upgrades
Acting as the on-site representative of the business, building strong working relationships with customers
Identifying opportunities for improvements, spare parts and ongoing service support
This role involves significant travel around 95% of your time will be spent away from home, with approximately 75% of site work within the UK and the remainder overseas. xwzovoh
The ideal Field Service Engineer will have
Electrically biased but multi-skilled background; including controls, drives and fault finding
Experience within manufacturing environments such as FMCG, food or automotive
Exposure to industrial automation, packaging machinery or special purpose equipment
Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working independently
Clear communication skills and a professional approach on customer sites
Full UK driving licence
