Caretaker Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire September 2026 Start Permanent (Employed directly by the school) £26,500 – £27,000 37.5 hours a week 7.30am -3.30pm Forever Education is partnered with a high-achieving secondary school in Bishops Stortford who are looking for a Caretaker. This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP, directly employed by the school. The position is for 37.5 hours a week – 7.30am to 3.30pm, and additional hours are paid for parents’ evenings and events., along with 24 days holiday + bank holidays. BENEFITS OF WORKING AT THIS SCHOOL? * Supportive and welcoming community * Opportunity to make a difference * Lovely Leadership Team who are down to earth and supportive * Modern School Building * Excellent Transport Links About the Role – Caretaker * Ensuring the School buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, secure, clean and well‑maintained, in line with health and safety requirements * Monitoring, operating and carrying out routine checks on systems such as heating, lighting, cooling, alarms and CCTV * Undertaking minor repairs, maintenance and general site tasks to support the efficient running of the school * Assisting with site security, opening and closing procedures and compliance with safeguarding expectations * Supporting lettings and events, including evening and occasional weekend work PERSON DETAILS – Caretaker * Practical maintenance and DIY skills. * Good communication and teamwork. * Knowledge of health and safety procedures. * Reliability, organisation, and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies.
