Are you passionate about media and mental health? This role ensures those with mental health receive the support they deserve through media.
Salary: £46,496.00, increasing with London Weighting to £49,973.00.
Location: Hybrid – 2 days a week in the London Office, Stratford.
The Head of News leads and manages a high‑performing team, developing dynamic and high‑impact media campaigns to give a voice to those suffering from mental health problems and to advance the charity’s policy, information work, and national services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience leading, planning, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating media strategies with a focus on proactively shaping the news agenda.
- News sense with a proven track record of developing media stories from scratch, working on high‑profile stories, and handling complex enquiries from journalists.
- Experience responding to crisis media stories that present reputational risk.
- Ability to prepare and brief senior spokespeople and service users for media interviews.
- Significant knowledge and experience of using social media as part of media and PR campaigns.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating the quality and impact of media campaigns.
- Experience managing media volunteers, including stewardship, safeguarding and data protection.
