For more information, visit turntide.com.Job OverviewWe are hiring for an electrical hardware engineer to carry out hardware development for power electronics projects for automotive and industrial electrification.The role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports into the Head of Hardware and Regulatory.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role the Electrical Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the following:Work in a team of engineers with various disciplinesDevelop power electronics for use in automotive and industrial applicationsInterpret system specifications to produce hardware functional specificationsCarry out circuit design, analysis, documentation, simulation, testing and debuggingType testing and writing of proceduresSupervision and guidance of techniciansSupporting other engineering disciplines for hardware design related issuesEnsuring that hardware design follows the company hardware and quality processes and proceduresEnsuring that hardware design meets relevant national and international standardsEnsuring designs meet hardware product safety standardsThe RequirementsWe’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:Demonstratable experience in an electrical engineer position or recent graduateAble to follow design processes to assure quality of hardware design and developmentDesign experience in electronicsHands on debugging and analysis of hardwareSupporting or creating PCB layouts and schematic captureGood understanding of electronic principalsAnalysis to component level on electronic hardwareBonus PointsIt would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had:Analogue electronics, signal acquisition and conditioningLow power SMPS designDigital electronics, microcontrollers, logic circuits and similarSimulation of electronic circuitsPCB layout and designAnalysis skills such as FMEA, FTA, tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, etc.Development to relevant standards such as REG10, REG100, ISO16750, CISPR 25, EN61800QualificationsA degree or equivalent in the following discipline is required: Electrical and Electronics Engineering.Relevant experience could also be considered.Turntide Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
