Part-Time Senior Accountant Location: Sheffield Salary: £40,000 (pro rata) Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week, 7.5 hours per day) About the Role An established accountancy practice in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team on a part-time basis.

This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and is a confident, capable professional ready to take ownership from day one.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing their own client portfolio and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities Preparation and review of year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industries Preparation of tax computations and tax returns Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members Acting as a main point of contact for clients, offering advice and guidance Occasional client visits as required Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines Requirements ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) Minimum of 3-5 years working within an accountancy practice Strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax Experience managing a client portfolio Strong experience preparing tax computations and tax returns Experience using Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks A confident individual who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision Strong communication and client-facing skills High level of attention to detail and organisation Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Broader tax experience (e.g.
personal tax, corporation tax planning) xwzovoh Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff Working Hours 3 days per week 7.5 hours per day Whats on Offer Competitive salary (pro rata), with clear performance expectations Bonus scheme: 20% of first-year fees and 10% of second-year fees for any new clients introduced and successfully signed Company pension scheme On-site parking available (shared spaces, allocated depending on working pattern) Flexible working arrangements, including opportunities for remote working where appropriate Salary review every two years Supportive, close-knit team environment Quarterly team lunches
